Borage was cultivated by the Harmonists and can still be found in town at the Lenz Garden in New Harmony. Its vibrant blue flowers and young leaves are edible and oils extracted from it’s seeds are used to treat skin issues, inflammation and support respiratory health. It is a pollinator attractor and a good companion plant for vegetable gardens as it deters some pests.
