Today it is grown at Angel Mounds National Park, site of a preserved Mississippian site located in nearby Evansville, IN.
The Mississippians were the first large production farmers in North America and developed the “Three Sisters” gardening method. They also planted fields of Quinoa, sunflowers, tobacco and gourds.
